First and foremost all thanks and gratitude is to the creator, Allah. I thank God every day I was born and raised Muslim, especially growing up in a Muslim country like Oman, so to Allah thank you for all your blessings and may you lead me on the path I’m met to find.

Secondly thanks to my mother, Jewahir Sheikh Mohammed Abdulkadir. You are my favorite person in the world, my hero, the greatest mother a person could ask for, and the only reason I am anywhere I am to today. I love you Abay.

Thirdly thanks to my family, my father Ramzi, my sister Niya, and my sister Eeman. You’ve always been there for me no matter how hard things get, and I wouldn’t trade you for anything, no matter how much we may disagree or squabble. You are my family and I will never not love you.

Fourth thank you to my chosen family, my friends old and new I’ve developed during my time living in Toronto. You have given me laughs, love, good times, joyous memories, and a reason to keep going when times have gotten so dark and rough. I love you everyone!

Lastly, and this is just for now as I’m sure I’ll be adding to this page for years to come, thank you to my extended family and Harrari community. No matter how afraid or paranoid I may get, I take solace in the knowledge that I am from one of the most special provinces in Ethiopia, and know that you, my tribe, will never let the evils that be ever steal my light and life.
